Gardaí in Dublin are investigating two separate armed robberies this afternoon.

Officers in Howth are investigating the robbery of a bank at Sutton Cross carried out by two men. One has been arrested.

In Dundrum gardaí, are investigating the armed robbery of a post office. One man has been arrested and a handgun and a sum of cash have been recovered.

The man is being held in Rathmines Garda Station under Section 30 Offences Against the State Act and is believed to be in his thirties.
