A man was assaulted and tied up during a robbery in Co Down, last night.
The victim, in his 60s, answered the door to his caravan on a site in Whitechurch Road, Ballywalter, to four men late last night.
He was punched several times before the gang left with his car keys, cash and jewellery. The thieves attempted to steal the man’s car but failed to do so and set it alight. They escaped in a waiting vehicle.
The man was taken to hospital with injuries which were not believed to be life-threatening.
Police said one of the attackers was armed with a knife.
