Jim Furyk produced a birdie-eagle-birdie sequence from the 14th hole to win the $4.5 million Memorial Tournament by two strokes from David Peoples and John Cook last night.

American Ryder Cup player Furyk, 32, without a victory on the U.S. PGA Tour since the 2001 Mercedes Championships, shot a closing seven-under-par 65 to finish with a 14-under-par total of 274 at the Muirfield Village Golf Club.

British Open champion David Duval posted his first top-10 finish of the season, tying for fourth place with Harrison Frazar, Fiji's Vijay Singh, Shigeki Maruyama of Japan and overnight leader Bob Tway.

World number one Tiger Woods, bidding to win the tournament for the fourth straight year, finished with a 66 for a total of 282.
