Fulham midfielder Sean Davis has withdrawn his transfer request and is set to negotiate a contract extension with the west London club.

Davis has convinced manager Chris Coleman that he is keen to be part of the Cottagers' plans. Coleman told the club's official website www.fulhamfc.com: "I have spoken at length with Sean and I am convinced that he will give me and the squad 100 per cent commitment."

Everton pulled out of a summer move for Davis because his knee ligament injury at the time would have made it impossible for him to pass a medical.

The player himself added: "During the time I have been recovering from my injury I have had the opportunity to discuss my future with the manager. He has made it clear to me that not only does he see me as an important part of his plans but I also believe the club can move forward."
