Dubliner Des Byrne has been released by Carlisle United after he broke a club imposed curfew on Saturday night.
Byrne was socialising after hours with team-mates following the club's disappointing 5-1 home defeat to Hull City.
Byrne is a former Ireland youth international and played with St. Patrick's Athletic before moving cross channel to Wimbledon in 2000. He signed for Carlisle last October.
The 22-year-old hit the headlines last year after he was found guilty of possessing a bottle as an offensive weapon following an incident at a London night club.
Compatriot Brian Shelley (22) - a former Longford Town and Bohemians player - was fined two weeks wages and placed on the transfer list for also breaking the curfew.
Carlisle boss Roddy Collins - who managed Shelley during his time at Bohemians - has sent Jamie Burt back to Chesterfield after terminating his loan spell at the club following his role in the incident.
Meanwhile, new Cork City manager Pat Dolan has signed striker Kevin Doyle from former club St. Patrick's Athletic.
Doyle, an Irish Youth international, has signed a two-year contract at the Turners Cross club.
