London - The show business promoter Mr Harvey Goldsmith yesterday told the High Court he believed the split between the dancer Mr Michael Flatley and his manager, Mr John Reid, was "inevitable".

He said: "That the relationship between John Reid and Michael Flatley ended was not a surprise. Having regard to the attitude displayed by JRE (John Reid Enterprises) for many months, their apparent lack of detailed attention to Michael Flatley's well-being and his career made the split inevitable in my opinion."

Mr Goldsmith, promoter of the hugely successful show Lord Of The Dance, starring Mr Flatley, was called to give evidence on the star's behalf yesterday during a two-way, multi-million pound court battle .
