Lansdowne Road was today confirmed as the venue for this season's FAI Cup Carlsberg Cup Final.

Favourites Bohemians will take on St Patrick's Athletic in their semi-final at Dalymount Park this Sunday. Longford Town host Galway United at Flancare Park in the other semi-final on Friday night.

Should Longford get past their first division opponents Galway, the midlands side would play in their first final at IRFU headquarters and be in with a chance of lifting the trophy for the first time.

Galway, on the other hand, will be looking for the opportunity to emulate their 1991 success when they defeated Shamrock Rovers 1-0 in the final.

St Pat's last appeared in the final at Lansdowne Road in 1995 when they drew 1-1 with Shelbourne before eventually losing the replay at Dalymount Park.

If Boh's and Longford meet in the final it would be a repeat of the 2001 final where the Dublin side triumphed at Tolka Park.

Bohs are clear favourites with bookmakers Paddy Power at 6/4, while Longford and St Pat's are priced at 9/4. Galway United, the only First Division team left standing, are rank outsiders at 12/1.
