Seasonally adjusted industrial production in the euro zone increased by an estimated 0.6 per cent in June from May, figures from Eurostat, the EU's statistics branch, showed today.
Industrial production had fallen by 0.2 per cent in May and by 0.9 per cent in April, said Eurostat.
Production by all 15 members of the European Union (EU) increased by an estimated 0.7 per cent in June after falling by 0.4 per cent in May and by 0.9 per cent in April.
The total industry index rose after negative rates for three consecutive months, said Eurostat.
Durable consumer goods showed the highest growth rates, increasing by 0.9 per cent in the euro zone and by 0.8 per cent in the larger EU.
The capital goods index rose by 0.5 per cent in the euro zone and by 0.7 per cent in the EU.
Non-durable consumer goods increased by 0.2 per cent in the euro zone and by 0.3 per cent in the EU.
Intermediate goods remained unchanged in both areas.
Energy production was unchanged in the euro zone, but decreased by 0.2 percent in the EU.
