THE Irish Times on the Web, the Internet edition of The Irish Times, breaks new ground this weekend when it provides in-depth coverage of the election results.
The site (at http//www.irish-times.com/election97) will provide running coverage of the results, updated reports and analysis of the major trends.
The editor of the web edition, Joe Breen, said: "Through the use of database technology, we will be updating our site with results as they happen, constituency by constituency, region by region, and nationally. We will also provide a detailed breakdown on transfers and other key data.
"In this way, The Irish Times will continue to provide readers, at least those with the necessary technology, with a major service over the weekend."
Election 97 On line is the latest major project by The Irish Times on the Web. The daily service attracts over 14 million accesses or "hits" each month.
