A young fan of Glasgow Celtic from Dublin died when fire engulfed a guest house in Glasgow just hours after he had watched the team clinch the Scottish Premier League title.

Firefighters found the body of 22-year-old Diarmuid O'Leary (pictured above), of Ballybough, lying in a second-floor bedroom in the guest house in the Maryhill area. Firemen pulled him from the fire, but he was already dead.

Four other people, including the proprietor of Scotts Guest House, in North Woodside Road, were taken to hospital suffering from severe smoke inhalation. Three of them are also thought to be Celtic fans from Dublin. They were all detained at Glasgow's Western Infirmary, where staff described their condition as "stable".
