CUSTOMISED SCHOOL buses operating as mini-cinemas will be touring the country this summer to spread school transport safety messages to children.

The service starts next weekend in Tralee, Co Kerry.

The 2008 Bus Éireann school transport summer safety roadshow will visit 30 agricultural shows in towns and villages around the country.

The roadshow starts next Sunday at the Kingdom County Fair in Tralee.

From there a 28-venue tour takes place of other agricultural shows throughout the country, ending in Mountbellew, Co Galway, in September.

Information about the roadshow is available on  www.buseireann.ieBus Éireann spokeswoman Erica Roseingrave described the roadshow as a summer-long campaign aimed at promoting the school bus safety message and encouraging children to "belt up safely" while travelling.
