London - A team of British scientists says it has developed a diagnostic test for new variant Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (nvCJD) which would pave the way for mass screening for the disease. The test, developed by a team led by Professor John Collinge at the Imperial College School of Medicine in London, involves the removal of tonsil tissue from patients in a minor surgical operation.
