A CT scanning service which got under way at Ennis General Hospital in July has been suspended due to staffing problems.

A CT scanning service which got under way at Ennis General Hospital in July has been suspended due to staffing problems.

The temporary radiologist at the hospital had left to take up employment in Britain and this had resulted in “the short-term suspension of CT services”, the HSE said. It said a recruitment campaign was under way.

Meanwhile, patients from Co Clare who required scans were being accommodated in Limerick, it added.
