NEW ORLEANS - The Chinese captain of a freighter that crashed into a crowded riverfront shopping mall said the ship's emergency warning sirens kept his crew from hearing some of his commands. Jing Kuan Deng, skipper of the Liberian-flagged ship, Bright Field, was testifying on the second day of a Coast Guard investigation into the accident, held jointly with National Transportation Safety Board investigators and a representative of Liberia.
