London - Britain called yesterday for governments and pharmaceutical firms to work together to cut the price of drugs for the world's poorest regions.

International Development Secretary Ms Clare Short, in a speech to the UN investment and development agency UNCTAD, said drugs firms should be allowed to charge near cost-prices to poor countries while selling at a profit to the developed world.
