Briscoe calls for zero tolerance

The Fianna Fail Dublin TD Mr Ben Briscoe has said he witnessed a drug deal while canvassing at Dolphin's Barn on Saturday. It took the Garda seven minutes to arrive after receiving a 999 call, he said. "There are still not enough gardai on the streets of my area to deal with the problems. Gardai are doing their best, but they are underresourced and overstretched," he said. The party's "zero tolerance" plan was "the only viable option".
