Kilkenny forward Eddie Brennan has requested a personal hearing after the Central Competitions Control Committee (CCCC) today proposed a four-week ban following his sending off in the National Hurling League clash with Waterford on Sunday.
As expected, the CCCC recommended a suspension of eight weeks for Waterford's Declan Prendergast for his part in the incident.
Prendergast was also sent off after he struck out at Brennan with his hurl. The defender and the county board have yet to decide how to respond.
The minimum ban for a red card is four weeks but Brennan is likely to have the chance to put his side of teh story across to the Central Hearings Committee (CHC) later this week.
The All-Star was dismissed by Anthony Stapleton after the referee consulted with an umpire.
Brennan will miss the league games against Tipperary and Clare if the proposed ban stands.
