The rescue services have recovered the body of a man from the sea close to the Cliffs of Moher this morning.

The rescue services have recovered the body of a man from the sea close to the Cliffs of Moher this morning.

The body was recovered by the Doolin Coastguard lifeboat off the Co Clare coast at 6.30 a.m.

A search was launched after a man was reported missing in the area shortly after 1 a.m.

Both the the Shannon-based coastguard helicopter and the Galway Bay Lifeboat were involved in the search operation.
