Pre-season friendly
FC Tokyo 0 Real Madrid 3
David Beckham scored his first goal for Real Madrid in a pre-season friendly against FC Tokyo in Japan's National Stadium today.
The England captain scored from a free-kick for the Spanish champions in their 3-0 win. It was Beckham's second appearance since his summer signing from Manchester United.
A foul from the Japanese side in the 37th minute gave Beckham his trademark chance from just outside the penalty area on the left-hand side. From there he delivered a curling right-foot effort that beat a three-man wall and Tokyo 'keeper Yoichi Doi.
Santiago Solari added a second soon after, and Ronaldo completed the scoring three minutes from time with a superb strike as Real dominated the J-League side.
In the absence of Zinedine Zidane, injured with a thigh strain, Beckham started the match in central midfield. From there he linked up well with Figo, Ronaldo and Raul.
Real play Thailand and China in the coming week before returning to Spain on Monday.
