A 26-year-old Sligo woman yesterday admitted dangerous driving causing the death of an older woman and injury to her husband but denied drink-driving.

Aisling Cummins, from Courthouse Drive, Grange, pleaded guilty to the dangerous driving offence at Sligo Circuit Court.

She admitted causing the death of Karen Mounsey (54) and serious injury to her husband, James, last August 28th, at Drumfin, Riverstown. She pleaded not guilty to driving her car over the alcohol limit on the main N4 Sligo-Dublin road.

Judge Anthony Kennedy adjourned the hearing and remanded her on bail to Sligo Circuit Court on July 12th.
