Former Danish international badminton player, Bo Omosegard, has been appointed by The Badminton Union of Ireland as national coach from January 1st 2004.

Omosegard represented Denmark from 1989 to 1992 and it has proven track record in coaching, having trained many of Denmark's most successful players.

The appointment was welcomed by the Chairman of the of the BUI, Arthur Carroll, who labelled it a "major appointment for badminton in Ireland."

Speaking on his appointment Omosegard said: "I am looking forward to helping the development of the many talented players in Ireland and I think this is a very exciting time for Irish badminton."
