At least 60 people were killed in western Uganda today when a fuel truck and a passenger bus collided and exploded in flames, police said.
"The brakes of a fuel tanker travelling from Kasese failed and it crashed into the bus and exploded," police spokesman Mr John Kimera said.
"There were no survivors from the bus."
The accident occurred at 2.00 p.m. (Midday Irish time) at a place called Lutoto more than 300 kms southwest of the capital, Kampala.
