Arrests made in Down murder investigation

Police have detained a number of people for questioning about the murder of a suspected drugs dealer in the North last year.

Police have detained a number of people for questioning about the murder of a suspected drugs dealer in the North last year.

Police carried out several searches and arrests in the Castlewellan area of Co.Down this morning.

It is understood the arrests were in connection with an investigation into the shooting of Matthew Burns (26) in February last year.

Mr Burns was a suspected drugs dealer. His brother Patrick was injured in a shotgun attack when their car was ambushed outside Castlewellan.
