Army personnel have joined up to 80 gardaí in the search for a missing Waterford woman.
Margaret (Meg) Walsh (35) from Ballinakill Downs in Waterford has not been seen since Sunday October 1st
Today 26 soldiers from the 3rd Infantry Battalion at James Stephens' barracks in Kilkenny assisted gardaí in searching an area close to both the Waterford Regional Hospital at Ardkeen and the Waterpark Rugby Club.
While Ms Walsh's disappearance is officially being treated as a missing person case, gardaí are said to be concerned for her safety.
Ms Walsh is understood to have made a complaint to gardaí last month about an incident involving a person known to her.
She was accompanied by a female friend when she made the complaint at Waterford Garda station some weeks ago.
It is understood that gardaí have spoken to the person identified by Ms Walsh in her complaint in the course of their inquiries into her disappearance.
