Three men escaped with an amount of cash following an armed robbery on a Waterford post office this morning.

Three men escaped with an amount of cash following an armed robbery on a Waterford post office this morning.

Shortly after 9am, two of the men entered the post office in Stradbally armed with a handgun and a wrench. No shots were fired during the robbery.

The men escaped a silver-coloured car that was later found burnt out in a wooded area along the Stradbally to Kilmacthomas Road.

Gardaí have appealed for anyone who noticed any suspicious activity to contact them.
