BRITAIN: Al-Qaeda has claimed responsibility for the July 7th bombings in London, and has threatened more attacks in Europe, the pan-Arab television channel al-Jazeera said. The channel said it would broadcast a new tape by al-Qaeda's number two, Ayman al-Zawahri, and the last testament of one of the suicide bombers.
The broadcast showed pictures of Zawahri and the bomber, Mohammed Sadiqi, but it did not air their comments.The newscaster said that, on the tape, Zawahri says the attacks were a "slap" to the policies of Tony Blair, and moved the battle to "the enemy's land". - (AP)
