Irish travelers are likely to be affected by a lightning strike which has closed Terminal One at London's Heathrow airport.

British Airways has cancelled all flights from oneof the four terminals at London's Heathrow airport after a sudden walk-off by some ground crew.

BA, which operates domestic and European routes out of theaffected terminal, said all remaining flights scheduled forTerminal One today had been cancelled after ground crewwalked out in a dispute over a new shift-monitoring system.

The main trade union covering BA staff, the Transport andGeneral Workers Union, was not immediately available forcomment.

A BA spokeswoman said: "Due to unofficial industrial action at London Heathrow around Terminal One by some British Airways ground staff, all the domestic and European flights from Terminal One have been cancelled.

"We would advise our customers not to come to Terminal One this evening, butto call the airline instead."
