One of the great summer success stories of last season, the Abbeyleix Autumn Food and Wine Fair will be held again next weekend.

On Sunday, a host of local producers and chefs will be joined by a contingent from Dublin's Temple Bar market.

Among the chefs who will be demonstrating are Bernadette O'Shea, author of Pizza De- fined, and Neven Maguire from the MacNean Bistro in Blacklion. Peter Ward of Country Choice in Nenagh is joined by another great Tipperary cook, Herb Quigley of Ballycormac House who will demonstrate breadmaking. Danette O'Connell of Danette's Feast in Carlow will be demonstrating her wizardry, as will Jim Tynan from Jim's Country Kitchen in Portlaoise.

Wine importers at the gala tasting include Colm Brangan, Henry Anderson of Bacchus Wines and Kevin Parsons, and this tasting is by ticket only and costs £6.
