Kabul - At least 20,000 residents of the Afghan capital filled the national stadium yesterday to see an alleged murderer shot dead and two whisky-drinkers flogged.
The Taliban militia, which holds Kabul and has imposed strict Islamic law, gave the relatives of the murder victim the option of carrying out the death sentence personally or forgiving the convict.
