KINSHASA - At least 100 Zairean MPs have quit President Mobutu Sese Seko's parliamentary alliance to join a new "nationalist" group, a spokesman said yesterday.

Although the founding members say they have formally renounced all collaboration with Mr Mobutu, the common goal of the group appears to be to topple the Prime Minister, Mr Kengo wa Dondo.
