What could be nicer, or more delicious, than a celebration of chocolate?
The first Temple Bar Chocolate Festival is in full swing this weekend and there will be lots of chocolate and cocoa goodies to sample and buy at the Meeting House Square food market in Dublin today, from 10am to 4.30pm. An interactive tasting session and discussion on the health benefits of cocoa at Filmbase (1pm to 2pm) on Curved Street will add to the feel-good factor, and there will be a chocolate-themed literature and poetry reading at Connolly Books in East Essex Street (5pm to 6pm).
Tomorrow, a gathering of Ireland's top artisan chocolatiers will transform Meeting House Square into a Willy Wonka wonderland, and there will be special chocolate-themed menus at restaurants and cafes, including Lemon Jelly, Smock Alley Cafe, Queen of Tarts, The Clarence and Joy of Cha.
