PRICE DROPS IN new developments, particularly in those parts of the suburbs that have seen a great deal of development in recent years are now so commonplace as to be expected by would-be buyers. The price cuts in Stocking Wood in Rathfarnham mean reductions of up to €200,000.

Now two-bed apartments with 70-75sq m (750-800sq ft) are from €249,000; three bed houses, with 93sq m (1,000sq ft) are €285,000 and four bed houses with 120sq m (1,300sq ft) are now reduced to €415,000.

The two bedroom apartments have their own front door – a feature that appeals to many apartment buyers who like the idea of apartment living but don’t like shared hallways.
