Plans have been lodged for a "brown field" site at George's Hill in Balbriggan, Co Dublin, which include housing, retail and office space along with a number of social-commercial facilities including a museum and tourist office. It is proposed to build 113 residential units, office and retail space with associated car-parking and access. Along with the museum and tourist office, there will be a pub, restaurant and five-screen cinema.

The site is bounded by Drogheda Street, Mill Street, Railway Street and Convent Lane. The redevelopment would include the demolition of an extension at the side of an existing mill, demolition of two habitable houses and extinguishment of a right of way on George's Hill.

In its place is envisaged nine buildings of three and four storeys high. The residential element is largely in townhouses, duplexes, apartments and some stand-alone housing.

The proposal includes 62 sq m of retail space associated with the cinema, while the entire development includes more than 400 sq m of retail space. In addition, a 165 sq m shop is part of the planned museum complex.
