Last call for apartments beside old abbey

Rathfarnham: from €340,000 Ten penthouses and 12 one and two-bedroom apartments in a popular Rathfarnham scheme are being launched this week.

Selling agent Hooke & McDonald has opened show apartments at the landmark Loreto Abbey in Dublin 16, close to Rathfarnham village for the final launch of units at the development.

Building work commenced three years ago on the Loreto Abbey site and most of the units are now completed with the remainder coming on stream later this year. When complete, there will be 260 apartments in the development.

The two and three-bedroom penthouses now being released are on view by appointment. They are priced from €650,000 and €1.15 million and are sized from 99-135sq m (1,065-1,450sq ft).

Prices are from €400,000 to €540,000 for two-bedroom apartments of 69-78sq m (750-850sq ft). The one-bedroom 44sq m (480sq ft) apartments cost from €340,000 to €360,000.

Available for the first time at Loreto are some smart penthouses with lots of natural light and stunning views over the Dublin mountains.

The penthouse show unit has 135sq m (1,450sq ft) of living space. A large dual-aspect living area has ceiling-to-floor windows and views onto the old abbey buildings as well as up to the Dublin mountains.

There is access to a large balcony, which wraps around the penthouse. Off the living area is a smart kitchen with granite worktop and recessed lights.

A separate utility room is plumbed for a washer and dryer. Three bedrooms all have fitted wardrobes and two are en suite. The main bedroom has access to a balcony.

The high spec at Loreto is also present in the apartments. All units have en suites, gas-fired central heating, marble worktops in kitchens and substantial balconies.

Loreto Abbey has easy access to the M50 and is a 10-minute walk from Rathfarnham village.

The seven apartment blocks in the development centre around the beautiful abbey buildings. Designed by architect John Fleming, the blocks have large windows and generous cantilevered balconies. The development boasts a substantial green area and lots of landscaping complementing the mature setting of the abbey grounds.
