Traditional herringbone wooden parquet has been given a twist thanks to the new ‘Wall to Wall’ flooring design by Raw Edges for Established and Sons (00 44 207 608 0990 Establishedandsons.com). Raw Edges is a London-based Israeli design duo of Yael Mer and Shay Alkalay who first created Wall to Wall as an innovative new flooring design for the 2009 Frieze Art Fair.

The 2.0 version of the design uses waxed oak bricks with each block of wood individually stained. Home owners work with the company’s designers to create customised mosaic patterns from a choice of four colours, giving you a bespoke floor that is unique to you. Fashion designer Stella McCartney has installed an earlier version of the floor in her stores worldwide. The price of Wall to Wall flooring starts from €409 (Sterling £325) per square metre. This price excludes shipping to Ireland and fitting.
