THE UK frozen food retailer, Iceland, has paid about £650,000 for 10,000 square feet in a new two-storey retail building at Lefanu Road, Ballyfermot, Dublin 10. Iceland is also to open shortly in Dun Laoghaire, where it paid about £750,000 for a former Atlantic Homecare store in Lower George's Street. Iceland has about 750 retail outlets in the UK. Hamilton Osborne King, which handled the Ballyfermot building for developer P.J. McGrath, is quoting a rent of £35,000 for a retail unit of 3,000 square feet on the first floor.
