Efforts to underscore the urgency of the Year 2000 computer date problem continue next Wednesday in the shape of the Y2K Ireland National Conference at UCD's O'Reilly Hall.

The event starts at 1.45 p.m. and the Taoiseach will deliver an opening address. The conference is intended to inform the business community how to tackle the millennium bug problem and highlight the serious implications for it if it goes unchecked. Other key speakers include Mr Chris Moore, IBM Y2K Executive for Western Europe and Mr Liam Kelly of the Irish Computer Society.
