High-speed train services linking London with Brussels and Paris, through the Channel tunnel, carried a record number of passengers in July. Traffic on the Shuttle service for cars increased by 29.5 per cent from the figure for June, Eurotunnel said yesterday. The Eurostar service between London and the two other capitals carried 651,849 passengers, which was 127,329 or 24 per cent more than in June, and 23 per cent more than in July 1996. Since the beginning of 1997 the service had carried 3,354,835 passengers.
