Stocks were mostly higher in New York yesterday as long term interest rates fell sharply again and technology issues continued to rebound.

On Wall Street, the Dow Jones industrial average dropped 22.90 points to close at 5,654.63, after holding small gains for a while.

Broader market indicators remained positive, led by another rally in depressed computer related stocks.

More than twice as many issues rose as fell on the Exchange and the Nasdaq market rallied for the second straight session as bargain hunters took advantage of a two week, 7.7 per cent slide on worries about slack demand in the computer industry.
