Telecoms regulator Ms Etain Doyle yesterday dismissed a call for her resignation amid fears that mobile phone operator Imagine would go out of business. She was responding to claims by Fine Gael deputy Mr Denis Naughten that she was not enforcing her own policy for opening up access within the mobile market.

Mr Naughten said she was not doing enough to help mobile phone service Imagine and the firm faced collapse with the loss of hundreds of jobs.
