SALE TERMS for the 183-bedroom Clare Inn beside Dromoland Castle in Co Clare have been agreed, according to selling agent Tom Barrett of Savills.
The price is understood to be in excess of €1 million. The three-star hotel was run by the Lynch Group until it went into examinership in 2009.
Michael McAteer of Grant Thornton, later appointed statuary receiver, arranged for the hotel to be run on a short lease by Pat McCann’s Dalato Hotel Group. Apart from extensive bars and restaurants, the Clare Inn also has banqueting facilities for up to 450 people.
The selling price does not include 32 suites in the grounds of the hotel. The main property stands on a site of 21 acres overlooking the Dromoland golf course, the Clare hills and the Shannon estuary.
