A new Internet cafe, computer and Internet training centre has been opened at the Belgard Information Technology Education Centre (BITEC) in Dublin. The move into training is new for the Internet Cafe, which has been operational for a year. A full range of courses from beginner to advanced level is available. These include accounting packages taught by qualified accountants, and web authoring instruction from web designers.

BITEC has been developed by the owners of the Belgard Complex a large bar and nightclub centre. When it became apparent that technology was central to the running of all parts of the business - tills, disco lighting and stock control - they wanted to learn more about using new technology. In the process they realised other people in similar situations would appreciate the same kind of training. BITEC is a certified European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL) centre.
