FedEx Cup points leader Vijay Singh, bidding for a third PGA Tour title in five starts, was seven under for the round after 14 holes and five strokes ahead of Canada's Mike Weir in the Deutsche Bank Championship at the Boston TPC yesterday.

On a high-quality leaderboard, South African Ernie Els and Spaniard Sergio Garcia were tied for third at 14-under-par, both having completed 15 holes.
