MPUMALANGA forwards Marius Bosman and Elandre van der Berg were last night fined by their tin ion for offences against the Lions in last Wednesday's match in Witbank.
Bosman was responsible for the challenge on Scotland lock Doddie Weir which resulted in his early departure from the tour with a severely damaged knee, while van der Berg was seen stamping on Scotland flanker Rob Wainwright.
Both players were found guilty by a four-man tribunal and van der Berg was fined 5,000 rand (£650), of which 3,000 rand (£350) is suspended until December, dependent on good behaviour. Bosman was fined 10,000 rand (£1,300).
Lions manager Fran Cotton would not be drawn into talking about the fines, saying: "They have made their decision and we have no comment to make."
