Derry City goalkeeper Dave McEwan has been ruled out of the first leg of the Champions League qualifying clash with Armenian side FC Pyunik next Wednesday.

The 25-year-old broke a bone in a hand training yesterday just hours after joining John Roberston's side.

The former Alloa Athletic player was brought in to put pressure on current number one keeper Patrick Jennings.

Defender Darren Kelly, who had requested a transfer, will remain at the club for the duration of the European campaign.
