Paul Doolin is hoping Drogheda United can make up for last season's Uefa Cup agony by advancing at the expense of Henrik Larsson's Helsingborgs at the Olympia Stadium tomorrow night.

The League of Ireland leaders go into the second leg of this second qualifying round tie level at 1-1 after the entertaining opening encounter at Dalymount Park two weeks ago.

This is Drogheda's third date with Scandinavian opposition in just over a year.

Twelve months ago, Drogheda ousted HJK Helsinki 4-2 on aggregate in the first qualifying round before their 11-10 penalty shoot-out exit at the hands of Norway's IK Start when they finished 1-1 on aggregate.

"I think the performance last year against IK Start in Dalymount was great and if we got that type of display - disciplined and attacking well - I'd be happy," said Doolin.

"We lost that tie on penalties but the quality of our football was excellent. As far as I'm concerned, we're capable of doing it again.

"It doesn't matter whether we're here or in Dublin. Our away performances are very good."

Drogheda are still without long-term injury victims Shane Barrett and Declan O'Brien while a hamstring problem will restrict winger Richie Baker to, at best, a role on the bench.

Helsingborgs cannot play new signing from Anderlecht, Czech Republic-born Martin Kolar, as he arrived after the Uefa player registration date.

Helsingborgs' Birmingham-born coach Stuart Baxter is adamant that he will not underestimate Drogheda.

"Knowing Irish football as I do, I would not let my players underestimate Drogheda," he said.

"If they think that any team coming from Ireland will take its foot of the accelerator forget it. We have to make sure we take a hold of the game and keep our foot on the accelerator."

Baxter selects from a full squad and intends to play Kenyan international Macdonald Marigold and Rwanda's Olivier Karekezi even though they are both the subject of bids ahead of Friday's transfer deadline.
