Man City 0-0- Newcastle:Newcastle United remain in the bottom three of the Premiership after a 0-0 draw at Manchester City in today's early kick-off.
City, yet to concede at home in the league this season,
dominated for long periods but spurned a host of chances - the best
falling to midfielder Joey Barton in the first half.
Newcastle enjoyed their best moments in the closing minutes,
Kieron Dyer having a shot blocked after a fine passing move and
then Scott Parker forcing keeper Nicky Weaver to beat away his
strike from long range.
Newcastle, whose poor league form is in direct contrast to
their solid cup form where they remain in contention in the League
and UEFA Cups, have taken just three points from last eight league
games.
Leaders Manchester United are away at Blackburn Rovers in the
day's late kick-off (5.15pm). By the time they get underway at
Ewood Park champions Chelsea could have joined them on 28 points,
Jose Mourinho's side hosting Watford at Stamford Bridge.
