Shagreen came out only second best to Sudest in the Saucy Kit Novices' Hurdle at Doncaster yesterday - but he looks a sure-fire winner soon.

He came out of the pack to chase Sudest and the impression was that had he had the assistance of a more experienced rider he would probably have won rather than being beaten a length.
