REAPPEARING at Punchestown for the first time since running well below par in Cheltenham's Sun Alliance Chase in March, Johnny Setaside made all to land odds in a two and a half mile conditions chase. The better for that run, Noel Meade's charge can follow up in tomorrow's Troytown Handicap Chase.
Lord Singapore, who failed by three lengths to concede 12 lb to Three Brownies in the Munster National at Limerick, will be fancied to go one better, but could be held by Johnny Setaside on the strength of a Punchestown performance last February when the latter gave away 11 lb and won by three and a half lengths.
Royal Mountbrowne short headed Feathered Gale at Leopardstown and then beat Belvederian at Clonmel. Aidan O'Brien's consistent charge should finish there or thereabouts. Second Schedual is capable of running a big race, and the former Harry de Bromhead trained Fissure Seal can be considered.
Radanpour, who profited by the second last fall of Liss De Paor over this course last time out, may not beat the Aidan O'Brien trained five year old in the Monksfield Novice Hurdle. The selection was an incredibly easy winner at Listowel.
MaCallister, in contention when falling at the ninth fence in the chase won by Johnny Setaside at Punchestown, is chosen to win the Slane Beginners Chase. Finnegan's Hollow, a 14 length winner of a bumper at Fairyhouse in April, can open his account over timber in the Crossakiel Maiden Hurdle.
