Both Tipperary and Clare will select their teams tonight. Both teams select from fully-fit squads. In the Tipperary camp, selection speculation surrounds the full forward line. Liam Cahill is reported to be making a bold bid to regain his place. Cahill came in as a substitute for Eugene O'Neill after 50 minutes of the semi-final against Wexford.
There is a feeling that O'Neill may lose out, Brian O'Meara offering a more physical challenge to Brian Lohan at full forward, Michael Cleary switching to O'Meara's semi-final position at left corner, and Cahill coming in at right corner forward.
presence may tell against him when Len Gaynor and his selectors name the side this evening.
As expected, John Leahy, who received a severe facial injury in the semi-final, has made a good recovery and will definitely take his place. He was replaced by Aidan Ryan in the Wexford match. Ryan will resume his position on the bench.
Only one change is anticipated in the Clare lineout. Fergus Tuohy, who cried off before the semi-final against Kilkenny, is expected to regain his place at the expense of Fergal Hegarty. Niall Gilligan, who came in for Tuohy, should hold his place. Hegarty was replaced after 48 minutes of the Kilkenny match.
However, Tuohy may not come back in at centre forward, Conor Clancy having impressed there when he filled in for Tuohy against Kilkenny.
